The Association of Grassroots Women Entrepreneurs, Bangladesh (AGWEB) organized opening of the third training session on “Skills for Employment and Investment Project (SEIP)” at AGWEB Institute of Technology in Vannara, Kaliakoir, Gazipur on February 01, 2017. The opening session was chaired by the president of AGWEB, Mousumi Islam. The session were also attended by Mr. Jahid Iqbal Deputy Director, Bangladesh Bank and Mr. Abdus Salam Miah, Director Programme, AGWEB. This residential training will be for three months where 25 Women Entrepreneurs of Gazipur District will be participating. At the outset of the session Mr. Abdus Salam Miah discussed the objectives of the training, He outlined three objectives from AGWEB part. Enhanced skills of women entrepreneurs to initiate enterprises either individually or collectively so that other neighboring Women can be employed as workforce. The trained women can also be employed through job placement in the appropriate sector and AGWEB, can linking them for financial support from the commercial banks to facilitate the funding of the enterprises, they will be engaged in.
Mr. Jahid Iqbal emphasis the objective of Bangladesh Bank. The BB will like to develop the Women of the country as the worthy workforce, who can support their families in their health, children education and improved livelihoods. The entrepreneurs will get further support from Bangladesh Bank of the entrepreneurship loan, if they can develop their business.
Mousumi Islam, the President of AGWEB, emphasized the women participation in economic activities. She expressed her high satisfaction of Women participation in outside home event where they can share their experiences and ideas with other and thus empowerment of the women take place. She uttered her firm commitment to support women in their empowerment. She encouraged the participants to support other women who are still not participating in economic activities outside their household level. She inaugurated the session and assured her full support to the Women Entrepreneurs in their future business and job related problems if any.
