Empowering Women Entrepreneurs through Jute Production Training: A Transformative Initiative in Barisal, Bangladesh

In a collaborative effort, the Association of the Grassroots Women Entrepreneurs, Bangladesh (AGWEB), and IFIC Bank joined hands to organize a two-day training program for women entrepreneurs in Barisal. The event, held at Shilpokuthir on Nabagram Road, focused on the production of jute items and aimed to equip local women entrepreneurs with essential skills.

Inaugural Session Highlights:

The inaugural session, graced by esteemed guests including Mr. Raziur Rahman (Vice President), Ms. Sheren Sultana (Principal Officer from IFIC Bank Dhaka Head Office), and Mr. Zakir Hossain (Manager, IFIC Bank Barisal Branch), set the stage for an enriching experience. AGWEB representatives, including Mr. Abdus Salam Miah (Director Programme), Mr. Asadul Islam (Project Coordinator), and Mr. Forhad Hossain (Monitoring Officer), actively participated.

Financial Empowerment Through IFIC Bank:

Post-inaugural session, a two-hour segment was dedicated to an insightful discussion led by Mr. Raziur Rahman and Ms. Sheren Sultana. They shed light on banking procedures and elucidated the necessary requirements for securing financial support from IFIC Bank. This session proved invaluable for the participating women entrepreneurs, offering crucial insights into the avenues of bank financing.

Hands-on Training in Jute Goods Production:

The subsequent two days saw participants engaging in hands-on practical training on Jute Goods Production. Ms. Shanjida Salma, the owner of Shilpokuthir, Barisal, provided expert guidance, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience for all attendees. The practical training not only imparted essential skills but also fostered an environment conducive to networking and collaboration.
